The author of this book is a Protestant clergyman who has apparently specialized in personal counselling to his young people. Here he has recorded the substance of his interviews with boys and girls of High School and College age. Each chapter opens with some youngster seeking out the counsellor: -- ""I have a problem, Doctor"". Then the good doctor proceeds to find out what the real problem is, be it religious, theological, moral or social and then to give ""the Christian answer"" to it. He ranges over a vast expanse of territory with a long stretch dealing with prayer, another with sex, another with family problems, another with getting along with people. The young people Dr. Hulme tells about seen to accept Christian presuppositions and pious answers rather too easily. But pastors and other leaders of youth may find his technique of value even with young people not so ""goody-good"".
