DINOSAURS AND BEASTS OF YORE

X. J. Kennedy and Lilian Moore wonder, Margaret Fishback reflects, Mary Ann Hoberman regrets their passing, Shel Silverstein waxes silly, and Jack Prelutsky, Valerie Worth, and a good number of others play around enjoyably with the dinosaurs' names, size, teeth, and extinct condition. Cole himself throws in several amusingly rhymed two-liners to keep the pages turning--and they do. The new warm-blooded dinosaur doesn't put in an appearance, but the ever-fascinating old ones are treated with more light-hearted wit than they usually elicit.
