KIRKUS REVIEW

Small time gunrunner Jack Grant winds up with all the cards in this very cool deal concerning the rescue of an underground intellectual from an obviously Greek prison during a contemporary fascistic heyday. Among the activists Grant, a Mercouri houri, and a suicide-bent American tilt against some clever governmental heavies from their London base and in Greece. The principals killed or scattered, Grant is in possession of some damning papers positing a junta-U.S. Senatorial link, and, under surveillance, he waits for the next game. A certain narrow-eyed political cynicism gives weight.
