KIRKUS REVIEW

Similar in design and intent to Gaunt's earlier The Impressionists: historical lineaments of the movement, biographies of the illuminati, chronology of major events, short bibliography, and of course visually fine plates which comprise the biggest and only surrealistic portion of the book. A welcome survey.
