Briefly, it precedes and sometimes accompanies diabetes, means that there is too little sugar in the blood, is never fatal or permanently debilitating, has uncomfortable symptoms (dizziness, fatigue, etc.), can be treated via diet, and may be either functional or organic. The authors wrote the earlier The New Way to Live with Diabetes, and this is to inform those who have this disorder.
