A glorified comic, just in time for Master, in a successful nonsense tale by the author of Christmas Pony. Philomena, the hen, brooded so over her unsatisfied yearning for on Easter hat, that for a whole year she neglected her duty to lay eggs for the Rugglis. Then, with the aid of a high wind and the goat, Bolitho, Philomena gets her hat -- and the Rugglis get their egg. The illustrations by Kurt Wiese are very uneven; most of the marginal line drawings are amusing and characteristic; most of the doublespreads in color are cheap and out of scale and not too successfully reproduced.
