THE STORY OF THE THREE BEARS

The text adheres to the most familiar simple version of the original and the illustrations return it to its native setting --Norway. Blocky stylizing lends weight to the lumbering brown bears and the rural rough interior of their house is well done in warm, bright colors. Goldilocks, however, barely lives up to her name. She seems to need a color rinse for, as Mr. Stobbs sees her, she is a thinnish tyke with hair which (from our review copy) can only be described inelegantly but accurately as very dirty blonde.
