THE GHOST PLANE OF BACKWATER

Only nineteen and looking younger, new to South Carolina and the tough business of agricultural flying, pilot Greg Stewart has something to prove. But when he discovers that his chief tormentor, Roy Burnette, is still struggling with a charge of cowardice that goes back to the Big War he decides to help Roy search the swamp for the remains of the B-24 that will prove his story of a mid-air explosion. The search is hampered by Hurricane Hulda, a mystery saboteur who rigs their Super Cub for a mid-flight crash, nosy newspaper reporters, water moccasins and rattlesnakes. . . enough for any kid pilot to test his mettle on.
