KIRKUS REVIEW

How to Make a Fortune Today -- Starting From Scratch is the siren song tag line to the title. The author's first book sold to the tune of 335,000 copies -- How I Turned $1000 into a Million in Real Estate. Criss-crossing the country as a lecturer and with occasional TV engagements, Nickerson received many letters containing questions based on matters covered more briefly in his first book. Using the letters as a jumping off point, he dwells on such matters as taxes and real estate; risk in real estate; and how to save enough for initial investment in income properties. His tone is consistently optimistic about everyone's chances for gain. His own attitude about barter, trade and financing requires more nerve than many of his imitators will be able to muster. His greatest emphasis is on property improvement as a method of increasing property values. Destined to be a popular item, this will also spark increased sales and renewed demand for the first book.
