KIRKUS REVIEW

... in Washington in the 1850's- with the Indians on the losing end of their protest against the white man's rule and reservation. Reverend Dan Signett, who has earned much ill will by defending them, is in even more trouble when his brother is killed- and he is believed guilty. Escaping to the wilderness, helped by the Indian girl Neeneena, he finally goes back to face trial and it is Neeneena who directs a fugitive Indian woman to give the evidence which will clear him. Staunch.
