While it is generally conceded that Vatican II represents a revolution in the thought of the Catholic Church, it is more difficult to prove that that revolution has had much effect in the life of the individual Catholic. Father Qulery's is perhaps the first book to take into account that rather unpleasant fact, and to offer a solution: the message of the Council must be ""interiorized,"" through prayer, if it is to play an effective role in the lives of Catholics. The purpose of the book, then, is to present a simple and practical method of, and approach to, prayer, one which will be useful to priest and layman alike. On the whole, the book fulfills its claim to practicality and simplicity, and its value is enlarged by the author's unusually lucid and readable style.
