Baseball lovers, especially Mets fans (and what red-blooded American isn't?) will be pleased with this thoroughly enjoyable evaluation of the unbelievable Mets. inging his analysis around a delightful account of Casey Stengel's birthday game (n which the Mets beat the Dodgers 5-1) the author carefully estimates the players, management, finances and fans in order to prove that the team has great potential, and then concludes that ""some day the Mets will win the pennant."" This amusing history of the Mets provides insight into the intricate factors involved in major eague baseball, and could be of interest to adults as well as the younger set.
