THE YELLOW SHOES

When he gives a beggar part of his precious piece of date bread, Haji Hana receives a pair of yellow goatskin shoes in return. The lad dons the weird footgear, takes a step and soars into the air. With his newly acquired power, Haji rids the mythical kingdom of its tyrant, and subsequently, the shoes lose their power. Although the tale has an ancient ring, it lacks much needed spark and surprise.
