MONSTERS OF NORTH AMERICA

Just a few summers ago in Missouri, an eight-year-old boy and his sister saw a big hairy thing near their house. Almost 300 years earlier, European explorers in North America ""found signs of ancient Indian monsters hidden deep in the wilderness."" One of these, the fearsome Wendigo, turned one settler old and mad overnight. And a little later in New Jersey a Mrs. Leeds gave birth to a demon. Benjamin Franklin and lames Audubon both ""made up"" American monsters for gullible foreigners, but even today there are dozens of people who say they have seen sasquatch footprints. Harmless.
