KIRKUS REVIEW

A rather sombre animal book, with its khaki-colored paper and heavy black line drawings. But potentially it could have been fun, for almost all children of picture book age would recognize the animals who were looking for the zoo -- a mouse, a snake, a hippo, a lion, an alligator, a camel and so on. Droll pictures, miniscule text -- but the drab appearance militates against its appeal.
