KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of As I Live and Breathe, as an antidote to present threat of world destruction, focuses on life about her in Kentucky, on homely experiences. Marriage, a son, househunting and renovation, mistakes in the hunting set, cruising, riding, servant and household incidents, gardens, the gossipy, small-town atmosphere of Louisville, guests and parties, holidays, voting, the Derby and its ramifications, recreations, hobbies. All in all, a personal, sometimes sentimental, often amusing record.
