A collection of epigrams, aphorisms, essays and extracts from longer works all dealing with thoughts on youth and age. It makes astoundingly good reading, and one has a sense of sharing the reasoned philosophy of many who have lived the good life. Inevitably, one savors most those sections which come nearest to ones own decade, and I, for one, found the anonymous contribution, Memo to Mysel at , worth the price of the book. Can be recommended to those who like collections of essays. My one quarrel with it is the great preponderance of writing by men; have then so few women given thought to the subject?
