An excellent study of the history, the people and project of the T.V.A. The author is definitely enthusiastic in approach , and sees sympathetically the varying viewpoints of Morgan and his former associates. She traces the steps of progress, by which a backward people have been brought to an awareness of modern social ideals; she follows the handling of various problems of management of water, soil erosion, health, soil conditions, education, etc. She faces the dangers of politics without and within, but feels that fundamentally they are external to the actual workings of the T.V.A. A book which should help to greater understanding of the social factors.
