THE LUNGFISH, THE DODO AND THE UNICORN

Previously published in 1941, this expanded, half new and completely rewritten, newly added illustrations, story of zoological might-have-beens, some of which decidedly were. Pleasant excursions into the facts on, and off, the record concerning unicorns, giants, dragons, sea monsters, strange animals, and other beasties. From classics to present day writings, Ley explores what has been told, in various versions, what is still being found out, and what may be possible, and makes it thoroughly fascinating reading for the natural (or perhaps unnatural) history audience. Compendious in its research and a worthwhile extra-curricular project.
