KIRKUS REVIEW

The science editor of P. M. and an authority on rockets and incendiaries claims that the Wellsian horror pictures of modern warfare have been disproved by Britain in a year under fire. There were less deaths in London air raids than in previous year records of violent death from various sources. Book is full of information on types of bombs, their purpose, methods of use, types of defense, civilians' responsibility, etc. Interesting analysis of reasons why poison gas has been avoided.
