ABE LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY

By

Pub Date: Feb. 12th, 1961
Publisher: Coward-McCann

Drawing on factual source material concerning the Lincoln family cabin, the family after Tom Lincoln's second marriage, what they ate and where they slept, on Lincoln's own writings concerning the books he read and what he thought about, and stories the author's grandmother told of her grandmother's early days in pioneer settlements like the Indiana settlement pictured here-Wilma Hays has conveyed a sense of authenticity to this story of Abe's twelfth birthday. It makes delightful reading, and adds dimension to the bare bone facts most third and fourth graders are given.
