One who assays to do for the twentieth century what Thomas Kemp did for the fifteenth has indeed a lofty and worthy aim. Winifred Kirkland has given us a beautiful devotional book. Few writers in the religious field are so familiar with the milleu in which Jesus lived; few others the ability to make that world so real to others. This book is both an inspiration to a devotional study of jesus and a guide for such a study. ""Inward Imitation"", ""The Joy of Jesus,"" ""Jesus' Use of Time"", ""Sharing Jesus' Love of ature"" are chapter headings which give an indication of the nature and scope of the book. Protestant -- but not sectarian. Can be recommended for Lenten reading.
