THE FORGOTTEN STORY

You've really got to keep your eye on the reprint game these days. This turn-of-the-century Cornwall suspense by the now-famed Poldark author is indeed identified here as ""an early Winston Graham suspense novel."" And the Library of Congress page will tell you that it was published in Great Britain in 1945. But only with some sleuthing will you discover that The Forgotten Story has in fact already been published by Doubleday in America, under the 1958 title, The Wreck of the Grey Cat. So, while this may be a welcome arrival for many--1958's Kirkus called it ""A discreet drama of a crime with a pleasant peripheral romance""--those already in possession of The Wreck of the Grey Cat should avoid unnecessary duplication.
