Again- only adequate in the overall picture. There are spots where imagination breaks through the outline and a lively portrait comes to life. There's the predictable pattern:- a frail youth charged by his father to be self reliant; the grim determination to become physically strong; the achievement of the role as an outstanding young lawmaker in Albany; marriage and the raising of a fine family, the merriest brood to enliven the White House. But again- of his role as chief executive, superficial handling.
