IRON AND STEEL

This and the following title are two new additions to the Elementary Science Reader series. A simply and well written synopsis of the history of the discovery of iron and its development into steel. The early part is a fast moving sketch of the early uses of iron and how its use spread; the latter part is devoted to iron and steel, their application and effect upon our own country from Colonial days to modern. Altogether an excellent treatment of a subject which might have been dull. Simple language, carefully chosen vocabulary, well drawn illustrations in black and white.
