This is a record -- historical and modern, of Granite state craftsmen, and of the handicrafts that were representative of the state and its people. New Hampshire is typical of enough of New England for the book to have general New England appeal to anyone interested in arts and crafts, and in the revival of our early crafts. These cover a wide range, from basket making among the Indians, through the Colonial crafts, the beginnings of a crude art, on to the rug making, quilt making, weaving, metal work and cabinet work revived successfully today. The state organization and mechanics of the League of Arts and Crafts will prove useful to other states.
