A well known radio commentator analyzes Germany within and Germany in relation to the international scene. The material has little that seems new or news, the vast detail adds considerably to one's picture of life in Germany today. His sources are reports, letters, conversations (unnamed). He attributes the riddle of Hitler's continued control, in the face of starvation and unpopular wars, to the characteristic habit of obedience. He presents an analysis of the classes; he surveys the role of propaganda, religion, the Jew. He discusses Germany's position in relation to Japan, Italy, Russia, and finally the U.S. If Britain falls. Brisk and anecdotal and most interesting in his reflection of life in Germany and in the occupied territories.
