KIRKUS REVIEW

Story of the Texas range and of New Mexico, when it was wide open and controlled in part by gangsters, western style. Panhandle Smith had two dominating emotions,- his love for Lucy Blake, his hatred for the bully, Dick Hardman, whose father had cheated his father out of his earnings, and jailed Lucy's father for rustling. Pan finds this out when- after a gap of years- he returns just as Lucy is on the point of marrying Dick to save her father. In accordance with the established formula, Pan and his pals win out, Pan wins the girl, smashes the Hardman gang and supplies plenty of melodrama-en route.
