KIRKUS REVIEW

A summer hotel on the Cape, replete with dotards, stifled spinsters and lurid with local tales of witchcraft and apparitions, is the scene for the murder of a young model. Mary Carner Whittaker and her brand new husband, are on the spot and take over the investigation. The issue -- a plain case of maternal possessiveness -- is obscured by a previous husband, a previous lover, jealous women and many eccentrics. Lively going.
