An account of an automobile trip from Vermont to the Coast and back, taking the southern route first, and covering the high spots, the Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, Death Valley, and so on, and returning by the northern route. Pleasant reading, though not going much below the surface of scenery, first impressions, anecdotes of the road, tourist camps, and so on. Somehow it leaves an impression of being superficial, which Lewis Gannett's slim little book did not do. Not a guide book -- but useful for planning a trip.
