The countdown is on, and we’re just one week away from Christmas. Wow, how crazy is that?

Last week I re-posted a great list of gifts for readers on the Read-A-Romance Month Facebook page (in case you wanted to follow me, that’s the best place to see most of what I do), which was a big hit.

As much as I loved it though, it inspired me to create my own list of Great Gifts for Romance Readers. It may be too late to get some of these things in time for Christmas, but if you like something, keep the list handy and you can suggest it for your upcoming birthday!

Natural Born Charmer by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. You simply can’t go wrong with SEP, and if you haven’t heard, her 2016 release is another Chicago Stars title. Natural Born Charmer was her last one, and it is simply delightful, but really, you can start anywhere. The new book comes out in late August, so you have eight months tObsessionFalls_Gifto read the whole backlist!

Floating Heart Bookends. My husband bought these for me as a gift to celebrate the third-ever Read-A-Romance Month and I just love them. They sit on a bookshelf in my office, bracketing some of my all-time favorite novels, helping me celebrate romance every day. (If red doesn’t fit your decor, Pier One has a set in white marble too—those are here.)

Obsession Falls by Christina Dodd. This is the second in her fantastic Virtue Falls series and if you like edgy, twisty romantic suspense, then you should definitely check them out. If you missed the first one, Virtue Falls, you might want to start there, but you don’t have to. They stand alone, and they’re both excellent.

The Library of Congress Online Shop. The shop is full of book-related items, which you can find here. It includes a number of Jane Austen–themed gifts, like this fun, colorful mug. (It also includes a Pride & Prejudice–themed infinity scarf that comes from the fun folks at, which is also worth an e-stroll. I have my eyes on these cool writing gloves.)

Anything For You by Kristan Higgins. The final title in KH’s Blue Heron series doesn’t technically come out until Dec. 29, but go ahead and preorder it aAnythingYou_Gifts a gift to yourself or your favorite romance reader. Connor’s story is just as funny and poignant as the rest of them, and since his love story starts when he’s 12, the storytelling is a little different than what we’re used to from this author, but I think you’ll love it. In fact, chances are it will make you want to go back and read them all over again.

Literary Tees. I’ve seen these fun literary tees from popping up on my Facebook feed recently. I keep hoping to see a Bridgertons, Blue Heron, or Black Dagger Brotherhood theme, but no luck so far. However, they do have a lovely Persuasion version that romance readers will likely love!

Speaking of the Black Dagger Brotherhood...paranormal superstar J.R. Ward launched a spinoff series early this month with Blood Kiss: Black Dagger Legacy, and sources say it’s Ward at her best. Sounds like a great choice for your paranormal romance fan!

A Brighton whimsical design. I love that their designs often include hearts, perfect for the romance reader! I recently spied this fun Connected by Love necklace, and then, when I went to find it online, I discovered a whole line of anklets (I love anklets!) including this adorable one called Enchanted Hearts. I can’t resist including it.

Historical BecauseBridgerton_giftRomance. I don’t even know where to start on historicals to recommend…I simply loved Tessa Dare’s When A Scot Ties the Knot and Eloisa’s James’ Four Nights With the Duke (two of my favorite books this year), I always recommend almost anything by Sherry Thomas (The Luckiest Lady in London is an all-time fave) and Julia Quinn’s March 2016 release, Because of Miss Bridgerton, is a Bridgerton prequel. They’re great for stocking stuffers, so why not get them all?

Possibly the Ultimate Romance-Lovers Gift…Why not set up a Little Free Library in your neighborhood and keep it stocked with your favorite reader’s favorite writers? Check them out, and encourage a love of reading in your own backyard.

What books and gifts are on your wish list this year?

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! xo
