Maybe it’s because holiday sales are in full swing or maybe there are more people who want ready reference to the odd facts and incredible feats of this world, but Guinness World Records 2013 now heads up the IndieReader Top 10 Indie Bestseller List, after several recent posts had it slightly lower on the list. As the Guinness people say it themselves, buy the book and “meet the new shortest living man and a slam-dunking parrot, and witness the fiercest predators in the ocean.”
The Elf on the Shelf – which tells the story of the holiday tradition and comes with an elf doll – leaps to number two on the list this week. We’re just pleased there were no elves on any shelves when those of us at Kirkus were little Christmas boys and girls – elf on the shelf gives too much incentive to actually behave during the holidays.
IndieReader's Top 10 Indie list is updated every week, using sources including Amazon, the New York Times, B&N.com and USA Today to determine what books make the cut. Check out the rest of this week's, and every week's, Indie bestsellers to see what's hot in Indie and self-publishing on their bestseller list.
