Actor and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais will tell the story of her life in a new memoir, People magazine reports.

Beauvais’ Love Me as I Am will be published next year by Amistad. The publisher describes the book as a “frank, funny, and fearless memoir about life, love and the pursuit of true happiness.”

Beauvais rose to fame in the 1990s with her roles in the shows Models Inc. and The Jamie Foxx Show, and later appeared in NYPD Blue and Franklin and Bash. Last year, she joined the cast of the reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, becoming the first Black member of its cast.

“Beauvais fearlessly talks about how she boldly embraced her sexuality in her 40s, and her determination to break free of the stereotypes that define and limit African American women in popular culture,” Amistad says. “Beauvais dishes too—offering juicy behind-the-scenes stories from movie sets, red carpet events, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“When I started along the journey of penning my memoir I had no idea how much of an eye-opening experience it would be,” Beauvais told People. “I am deeply proud to share my journey as a woman, the struggles, and funny memories with those who have followed me throughout my career in Hollywood.”

Love Me as I Am is scheduled for publication on April 12, 2022.
