You’re one of the most famous dealmakers in Hollywood and you need someone to narrate your memoir on audiobook? Better call Bob Odenkirk.
The comedian and actor, known for his roles in the series Mr. Show with Bob and David, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul, will lend his voice to Ari Emanuel’s Roll the Calls, set for publication next month by Knopf.
Emanuel, the executive chair of entertainment companies TKO and WME Group, is the brother of former White House Chief of Staff and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. He served as the inspiration for the character of the slick, fast-talking agent Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage. Roll the Calls tells the story of his career as a superagent, representing celebrities including Denzel Washington, Martin Scorsese, Oprah Winfrey, and Odenkirk himself.
Odenkirk has narrated the audiobook editions of his own books, including the humor collection A Load of Hooey and the memoir Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama.
Odenkirk shared news of the Roll the Calls audiobook on Instagram, writing, “Ari’s been my agent, my friend, since the days of Mr. Show, and he’s always been a character, but I didn’t realize how much until I read his whole crazy story. It’s really the perfect book for this moment in which we find ourselves, because it shows how you have to be a little crazy to survive this crazy world.”
All editions of Roll the Calls are slated for release on Sept. 22.
