Saturday Night Live alum Rob Schneider will tackle hot-button political issues in a new book, Deadline reports.
The comedian and actor will publish You Can Do It!: Speak Your Mind, America with Center Street, the Hachette imprint whose roster has included conservatives like Vivek Ramaswamy, Newt Gingrich, Ben Carson, and Betsy DeVos.
Schneider first rose to fame as a cast member on SNL from 1990 to 1994. He went on to appear in films including Demolition Man, The Waterboy, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, and The Longest Yard.
In recent years, Schneider has become known for his opposition to child vaccine mandates; he has suggested that vaccines cause autism, a theory that is widely discredited by scientists. He has been a critic of so-called “cancel culture” and said that he voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election; he is now a supporter of fellow vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
In the book, Center Street says, Schneider “takes on the current neoliberal authoritarians in America and argues we are living under a new kind of tyranny, with provocative commentary on the new threats to free speech, the fight for medical freedoms, climate change hysteria and, of course, Hunter Biden.”
You Can Do It!, which shares its title with one of Schneider’s best-known movie catchphrases, is set for publication on Sept. 24.
