Tabitha Brown is returning to the world of children’s literature.
HarperCollins announced that it will publish the social media personality and host’s A Heart Full of Wishes, illustrated by Olivia Duchess, next year.
Brown was working as an actor and rideshare driver when she posted a viral video review of a Whole Foods vegan sandwich; she became a brand ambassador for the retailer. In 2020, she launched a TikTok account focused on vegan content; it now has more than 5 million followers.
She went on to host the Food Network competition series It’s CompliPlated, and now hosts Tab Time, an Emmy-winning YouTube series for preschoolers and their parents. She is the author of a previous children’s book, Hello There, Sunshine, also illustrated by Duchess; a critic for Kirkus wrote of it, “Being kind and helpful lights up the day from within in this inspiring and idyllic slice-of-life tale.”
A Heart Full of Wishes will tell the story of Tabitha, a young girl who begins to wonder what makes wishes come true while on a trip to a park with her mother. HarperCollins calls the book “a heartfelt celebration of faith, wonder, and the invisible magic all around us—making it the perfect choice for family read-alouds and cozy bedtime reading.”
Brown shared the news of her book in an Instagram video, saying, “I decided to do A Heart Full of Wishes because I really wanted to teach children about having faith and believing in things they cannot see, because that’s also what wishing is, right? Teaching them [that] your wish is a prayer. It’s a belief in things. It’s faith. It’s knowing that when I make that wish, I can hold it dear in my heart until it comes true.”
A Heart Full of Wishes is scheduled for publication on Jan. 19, 2027.
