Romantasy fans will soon have a new way to enjoy Rebecca Yarros’ Fourth Wing.
Ten Speed Graphic will publish a series of graphic novels based on Yarros’ book, the press announced in a news release, with the first installment scheduled for publication next year.
Fourth Wing, published in 2023 by Red Tower, follows Violet Sorrengail, a 20-year-old woman studying to become a dragon rider at a war college. The novel became a bestselling TikTok sensation, and Yarros followed it up with two more books in the Empyrean series, Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. Fourth Wing is currently in the works as an Amazon Prime television series executive produced by actor Michael B. Jordan.
The graphic novel adaptations of Fourth Wing will be written by Yarros and illustrated by Anabel Rossi. The first installment will cover Chapters 1 through 22 of the novel. Ten Speed Graphic plans to release a second graphic novel adapting the remaining chapters, as well as four more books covering the rest of the Empyrean series.
Yarros announced the graphic novels on Instagram, writing, “I’m ecstatic to be revealing the covers of the first volume of the Fourth Wing graphic novel! There are multiple covers for different retailers, so swipe through to see all of the options! The story is the same in all editions, so this really is a pick-your-favorite-cover scenario!”
Fourth Wing, The Graphic Novel: Volume One is slated for publication on April 6, 2027.
