Readers who didn’t get a chance to see Michelle Obama on her last book tour will have the chance to experience it via podcast.
Audiobook company Audible is launching a podcast based on Obama’s tour behind The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times, the Associated Press reports. The book became a No. 1 New York Times bestseller; a critic for Kirkus wrote of it, “No surprises or reveals but plenty of warmth and encouragement, particularly for young people. A good holiday gift.”
The former first lady began her tour last November in Washington, D.C., where she was joined by comedian Ellen DeGeneres and poet Elizabeth Alexander. She went on to visit five other cities, accompanied by guests including Gayle King, Hoda Kotb, Conan O’Brien, and Oprah Winfrey.
“Though only a few thousand people were able to attend the events live, these remarkable conversations can now be heard by everyone,” Audible said in a release announcing The Light Podcast.
Obama announced news of the podcast on Instagram, writing, “These conversations touch on so many of the issues we’re all dealing with—navigating relationships, building good friendships, understanding ourselves, overcoming fear, and so much more. I hope The Light Podcast inspires each of you to find and share your light with others.”
The Light Podcast is set to release on March 7.
