Rob Lowe will share life lessons in a book due out in 2027, People magazine reports.
The Open Field, Maria Shriver’s Penguin Life imprint, will publish Lowe’s What Do I Know: A Guide to Living next spring. The press calls the book “a guide to navigating the inevitable ups and downs of adulthood—and putting together a good life—distilled by Rob Lowe from his journey of reinvention, sobriety, parenthood, and aging.”
Lowe first rose to fame in 1983 with his performance in Francis Ford Coppola’s film adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders; he went on to star in movies including The Hotel New Hampshire, St. Elmo’s Fire, and About Last Night. His career was nearly derailed after a sex tape scandal in 1988, but he later rebounded with roles in the television series The West Wing, Brothers & Sisters, Parks and Recreation, and 9-1-1: Lone Star.
He is the author of two previous books, Stories I Only Tell My Friends and Love Life.
Lowe, the father of two adult sons, said in a statement, “As an empty nester, I’ve lost my captive audience for wisdom and advice. So, congratulations, now it’s your turn! From the deadly serious to the potentially ridiculous, I’m happy to share my roadmap.”
What Do I Know is slated for publication on April 6, 2027.
