Model and actor Emily Ratajkowski has sold her next book in a seven-figure deal, Deadline reports.
According to the magazine, Penguin Press acquired the book, titled Mother F*cker, after a bidding war.
Ratajkowski first rose to fame after appearing in the 2013 music video for Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell Williams’ “Blurred Lines”; the video was frequently criticized as misogynistic.
Ratajkowski later appeared in films including Gone Girl, Entourage, and We Are Your Friends. Her most recent acting gig was in Lena Dunham and Luis Felber’s limited Netflix series, Too Much.
In 2021, Metropolitan/Henry Holt published Ratajkowski’s memoir, My Body. A critic for Kirkus called the book, which became a New York Times bestseller, “a refreshingly candid, fearless look into a model’s body of work and its impact on her identity and politics.”
Mother F*cker, according to Deadline, will recount Ratajkowski’s experiences dating as a single mother. Ratajkowski wrote an essay with the same title that was published last month on The Cut. “Even as a kid, I reasoned that of all the things I could grow up to be, it was crucial to avoid becoming a single mom,” she wrote in the piece. “The term itself could be lodged as an insult. Having a child with the wrong man was the fastest way to ruin your life as a woman—it meant having no freedom, no choices, no emergency exit. All baggage and no security.”
There is no word on a publication date for Ratajkowski’s book.
