Cher will have a little help narrating the audiobook version of her forthcoming memoir, People magazine reports.

Singer and actor Stephanie J. Block will co-narrate Cher: The Memoir, Part One, the first installment of the legendary entertainer’s book, which is set for release later this month.

Cher, the singer and actor known for her singles “Dark Lady,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” and “Believe,” and her performances in films including Silkwood and Moonstruck, announced her memoir this summer. Publisher Dey Street says the memoir “reveals the daughter, the sister, the wife, the lover, the mother, and the superstar. It is a life too immense for only one book.”

Block debuted on Broadway in 2003 in the musical The Boy from Oz, playing Liza Minnelli in the show, and went on to perform in musicals including The Pirate Queen, 9 to 5, and Falsettos. In 2018, she starred as Cher in The Cher Show, which earned her a Tony Award.

Cher praised Block, telling People, “I knew [Stephanie] would be the perfect choice to get across to the reader the essence of me. I called her and within hours she rearranged her schedule to start the recording.”

All editions of Cher are slated for publication on Nov. 19.
