It’s Kirkus Prize time again! Created to celebrate Kirkus’ decades of service to readers, the Kirkus Prize is one of the richest annual literary awards in the world, with three prizes of $50,000 to the author/creators of the best fiction, nonfiction, and young readers’ literature in the past year. Each prize is judged by a panel comprised of an esteemed writer, a librarian or bookseller, a Kirkus critic, and a Kirkus editor.

The 2022 Kirkus Prizes will be awarded in person at the Austin Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 27. Join us for the ceremony via livestream, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, on our YouTube channel.

In this special episode, author judge Hanif Abdurraqib and host Megan Labrise discuss the prize process ahead of this year’s awards ceremony.

You can listen to new episodes of Fully Booked every Tuesday on Apple Podcasts and Spotify or at kirkusreviews.com/podcast.
