KIRKUS REVIEW

The co-author of last year's Bill Clinton (1993) presents Hillary Rodham Clinton in the same clear, unadorned style, recounting the achievements of her school years and the numerous accomplishments of her adult life in a sort of resume enlivened with anecdotes and personal details. The information isn't sourced (it seems to be based on recent periodical literature, the media, and/or the seven recent titles listed ``For Further Reading''), but it's a thorough report on information in the public record, in a narrative that balances successes with their concomitant compromises and stresses. The health care plan is discussed briefly, but the book closes before its presentation to Congress. Admiring but not adulatory, an inspiring portrait that will make readers wonder what other offices this other hard- working, superbly qualified Clinton might one day be allowed to fill. Index. (Biography. 10+)
