KIRKUS REVIEW

A graphically bold book from which pop-up numbers fairly leap off the page and right into the imaginations of very young readers, who will ask for it again and again. Each number is presented in a different typeface--from ``stencil'' to ``moonbase alpha''--so that kids can learn to identify ``one through ten'' in its many different incarnations. Next to each number is a series of smaller numbers in all of the typefaces presented, which then can be looked up and matched with a list at the end of the book. The colors are vibrant and the numbers pop up in unusual and imaginative ways, so that the eye is constantly engaged. Olyff has created a counting book that is truly exciting. Simple, streamlined, and right on the money. (Picture book. 3- 8)
