Aspen Words has revealed the lineup and schedule for its first-ever Aspen Literary Festival, presented by Book of the Month and scheduled to take place in Colorado next month.
Elin Hilderbrand (Swan Song) and Jasmine Guillory (Flirting Lessons) will be in conversation about “ambition, desire, and the joy of stories that don’t hold back” on September 27. Also on that date, Leigh Bardugo (The Familiar), Victor LaValle (Lone Women), and V.E. Schwab (Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil) will discuss “how they build immersive worlds and craft complex moral systems, and why their stories resonate so fiercely with readers of all ages.”
On September 26, Michael Lewis, the editor of Who Is Government?: The Untold Story of Public Service, will talk about “the fixers, wonks, and data nerds who make the country work,” while Angela Flournoy will discuss her latest novel, the forthcoming The Wilderness.
The festival’s final day will be September 28 and will feature a discussion with thriller authors Walter Mosley (Gray Dawn), Chris Pavone (The Doorman), and Brendan Slocumb (The Dark Maestro). Later that day, Kevin Kwan (Lies and Weddings) and Nathan Hill (Wellness) will talk about “how we perform identity, chase status, and find meaning in the mess.”
Adrienne Brodeur, the executive director of Aspen Words, said in a statement, “For one unforgettable weekend, we’re bringing the literary world to the mountains, where Aspen itself will become part of the story – alive with conversations, beloved authors, and new discoveries.”
