ANOTHER MEXICO

by Graham Greene

Pub Date: June 5th, 1939
Publisher: Viking

A Catholic tours Mexico and finds little to his liking, and plenty to condemn. The anti-Catholic movements have prejudiced him in advance, and he travels down from Texas, with a chip on his shoulder, looking for things to criticize. He succeeds in getting plenty to feed his distaste and he pours it all forth in this volume, — places, people, travel accommodation, scenery, food, lodgings — he was acutely miserable throughout. Stringent antidote to usual enthusiasm for Mexico and things Mexican. Particular market — the Catholics who want food for their wrath.
