Piggins, looking more than ever like Hudson of Upstairs, Downstairs, is back in a second sophisticated mystery/spoof. This time Pierre Lapin and his three unmarried sisters join Piggins and two of the Reynard family's children, Rexy and Trixy, for a picnic. There seems to be some consternation when Rexy disappears, but the disappearance turns out to be a puzzled arranged for Piggins' amusement: it's his birthday. The Edwardian details are amusing, both in the text and as portrayed by Dyer. This will be in demand where the first book about Piggins was popular.
