CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE

by Vladimir Nabokov

Pub Date: Jan. 1st, 1951

Charming, incisive, but never biting remembrances from the author's past when he was action of a wealthy St. Petersburg family during the glittering but last-gasp days of Czarist Russia. The fifteen stories present pictures of winter in the family's St. Petersburg's mansion, the summer house in the birches, vacations at Blarritz, a wonderful journey on the Nord Express in its hey-day, an early love, Tamara, and, finally, the flight south to the Crimes and beyond. Most of the stories have appeared in The New Yorker, others were first printed in Monthly and the Review For a specified market.
