She's coping, barely, when sexy Damen transfers to her school and shakes things up. She can't read his mind, but he can sense her thoughts and knows everything about her. Narrator Katie Schorr has a wonderfully raspy, youthful voice, which she puts to good effect on the cast of teenaged characters. The fantastic elements of the story blend well with a story of adolescent angst, and Schorr demonstrates exuberance in portraying all the drama. Her energy and spirit suit this lively supernatural title to a T.

While narrator Emily Wilden brings protagonist Merry to life with a rich Welsh accent, her narration seems uneven at times. All the period characters have accents that reflect the setting of the story and transport listeners to Wales.
