Four narrators offer perspectives on the fall, then rise, of The Future Saints, a musical group. Ali Andre Ali dramatizes the point of view of Theo, a record company representative who rescues the failing band after he glimpses their promise. He's certain they can make a hit album, and he falls in love with lead singer Hannah. Hannah's performance of a dark new song leads the band to viral success. Brittany Pressley depicts her outward sauciness and outrageous behavior while also showing Hannah's tormented inner feelings, expressing her deep grief at the death of her sister, Ginny, who was their previous manager and linchpin. Vikas Adam and Tyla Collier shift easily between accents and attitudes in portrayals of the other band members, social media commenters, and more. A successful ensemble performance.

This is not a story about guns, but about blue pearls. Gerald Browne takes us to the Pacific Ocean and the world of pearl divers and natural gems and mixes in mystery, intrigue and suspense. Barry Bostwick portrays the characters in one voice, varying his intonation slightly for the Asian personalities. His reading style is very smooth, evidence of preparation and interest in the story. 18mm Blues is abridged well, collecting the important elements of the story. Unobtrusive music indicates the end of each side. Disappear into the mystery of the Far East and one of its most beautiful commodities.
